I bought this for my son and after a week of riding his bike in the rain everything was still dry!! Result! The only quibble is if the front pockets on the chest strap were waterproof, otherwise totally recommended

Bought this for my husbands Xmas, I gave him a sneaky peek just to make sure he liked it, he was absolutely delighted with the size and quality of this product and now wants all the additional bits for it !

RIP Old Chap
Today is a sad day. I've had to say goodbye to an old friend. Starting out in motorbiking when I still had hair on my head and a few marbles rolling around I bought an R35 as my frist pack. About 8 years and I have no idea how many thousands of miles of daily commute, weekend trip and European trips later and the old thing has finally given up the ghost.
The cat has slept on it and in it. It has been through one barbeque "incident", two crashes, UK weather of all shapes, a whole number of evenings on the pub floor and countless other mistreatments.
I can state with confidence that Bob the Bag survived it all. I'm going to buy another although they say you never forget your first.

Comfortable ruc sac with some nice features
This ruc sac has the capacity for a light weekend away and has a unique and effective harness mechanism. The sac also has nice features, such as slim pockets in the front of the harness - great for phone and wallet. Not waterproof - must use liner bags. Recommended

Superb rucksack
Having bought a few Kriega products over the years , I needed to get the R35 for a larger capacity.
The usual high quality build is now taken for granted. The fit and adjust ability is second to none.

I expected big things...
...and wasn't dissapointed! Having heard and read a lot of good things about KRIEGA rucksacks I had long set my eyes on the R35 as it seemed to respond to my needs the best. I am very impressed! It's fantastically finished. Over-sized zips, thick materials and what looks like quality stitching all round. The padding on the part that sits on the rider's back is the plushest I have ever witnessed on any rucksack! The first time I put it on I thought it was empty it was so light! Basically: Believe the hype and the product description, the locking mechanism is as good as they say it is! The weight is spread across your chest and does not "pull down" on your shoulders. Are you thinking about buying one? Do it! It's not expensive, it's excellent value for money - you get what you pay for!

early adoption paid off on this product
I was one of the first customers to buy this product when it was called Krug 35. It's so long ago I cant remember when I bought it but I use it everyday. i used it on a trip round the Thai Burma border this summer and it worked great even though it was roasting hot. Its looks a bit scruffy now but thing is it still works. Another observation is that it can draw the attention of the public and security gaurds at airports I think people think Its a parachute.

Best ever buy
Totally faultless over the last 6 years or so covering in excess of 80,000 miles. Used daily for commuting and touring. The best piece of kit I've bought in almost 20 years of motorcycling. Recently damaged in an accident and when the 3rd party pays out, an R35 is at the top of my shopping list. Looses one star for not being waterproof.

6 years old, 50,000 miles+ and like new
I bought this R35 just after Krug became Kriega – a good 6+ years ago. It’s been to Europe a 5 times for weeks on end. I commuted daily with it for 2 years in all weathers (70 miles and when I got it, it came with a 100% waterproof liner – tested many times…).
It’s still the same as when I bought it, zips all fine, no ripe/tears (surprised as I have often had it crammed with my stuff). Comfy and the straps keep everything in place.
If you are after personal luggage for bike trips then it has to be Kriega – head and shoulders above the supposed competition.

R35 King of bags
I have only used this bag for only a month or so but can tell i have brought a quality bag. i have many other bags which just didn't seem to compare to this. i thought 109 was a large amount of money to spend on a bag but once you have it you cant fault it. my issue was bags not being waterproof and just not being comfortable and with large soft padding it is very comfortable. the bag doesn't look huge when on your back and can be worn just as an everyday rucksack. also i think it looks very sleek and cool looking bag. i haven't bought the waterproof liner and am thinking of this as a future purchase but so far contents of what has been in the bag has been completely safe and dry. Another advantage the rucksack has is the harness which makes the bag very secure around your chest. I've always wanted a rucksack which feels secure and am able to put some valuables In this area of the bag. I will be buying more kriega from now on already looking at bike packs. A seriously genuine rucksack.

About 5 or 6 years ago I bought a "Krug" R35 rucksack at the GMEX show at Manchester. Previously to the purchase of the R35 I had always had crap rucksacks which always fell apart, didn't hold the kit, always leaked and were downright uncomfortable for the odd 30 years I had persevered with them. Since buying the R35 I've added an R3 bumbag - yes you've guessed - because all the other bum bags I've had have also fallen apart because they were crap. Anyway, the reason for the email is just to put pen to paper as it were and let you know what a good bit of kit the R35 is. It's been dragged here there and everywhere, done several laps of the Netherlands/Belgium/France, been soaked for endless hours at a time. It's now getting on for 5-6 years old and people still ask me today if I've just bought a new rucksack. Which must be a good testament to it as it still manages to look new. It does exactly what it's supposed to and on several occasions held a bit more than it was designed to, and all without any damage, wear or discomfort. As for the R3 - well I haven't had it long enough but it's doing the business as it were already!
Good on ya folks. You keep making it, I'll keep using it!
